Susan -- I agree 100% -- AC + Dick Wagner = magic. Without him...meh. I'll be reviewing "Zipper Catches Skin" and "DaDa" later this week, and, well, basically, you've pretty much made my point for me in fewer words.

BTW the Hunter-Wagner intro to Lou Reed's "Sweet Jane" on "Rock 'n' Roll Animal" LP is -- as far as I'm concerned -- one of the most transcendent moments in all of music. Tell Dick I said so!

Thanks for commenting. Your insight is very much appreciated.

Thank you for your detailed and thoughtful review. It is worth noting that the prolific collaboration between Alice Cooper and Dick Wagner began with "I'm Eighteen" (featuring Wagner -- uncredited -- on guitar) and continued on through "From the Inside." Together, Wagner and Cooper co-wrote more than 50 Alice Cooper songs, including 7 of his 9 biggest hit records. The collaboration broke up temporarily -- and Wagner did NOT collaborate on either Special Forces or Flush the Fashion (neither in songwriting nor on guitar.) Dick Wagner and Alice Cooper reunited for "Zipper Catches Skin" and the great "DaDa." I also recommend a listen to the exquisite tune Dick and Alice wrote for the "Hey Stoopid" album: "I Might As Well Be On Mars." The Cooper-Wagner magic is the common denominator within Alice's best work. Full disclosure: I am Dick Wagner's business partner, as well as a big fan of his work of art.
